There are thousands of promotional items that a company or group can purchase with their logo imprinted, but it’s hard sometimes to pick which ones to spend your hard earned money on. There are some things to keep in mind when narrowing down what to buy and I’m going to try and simplify it for you.
The biggest thing to keep in mind is Make it Useful. Everyone is in the habit of trying to declutter or condense down their unnecessary possessions, so always try to purchase something people need or will use. Ink pens are probably the cheapest thing out there and they are useful! Everyone needs a pen at some point in their day and what’s better than one with your business information on it. Notepads are another choice that is easy on the pocket book and will be used by your current or future customers. Whether it’s a sticky notepad or a normal scratch pad, both are good options that people will use.
If you are hosting an event or fundraiser, another good idea is to pick something relevant to the event. Will you have drinks available? Invest in stadium cups for participants to utilize at the event. Or you can give re-useable tote bags so they can carry their stuff in them. Is it an event where you have pre-registration? Use t-shirts as a registration gift to boost signups and everyone can always use a t-shirt! There is nothing better than people displaying your message as they go about their day, all while helping you advertise. T-shirts are a good investment. Since out of pocket cost is higher on shirts vs. cheaper alternatives, you have to look at the longevity of the shirt. It ensures you will get your money’s worth of advertisement as they wear the shirt time after time.
In this day and age, technology is growing and so are the promotional options for consumers. USB chargers are used daily for charging phones, tablets, hand held gaming systems, hands free devices just to name a few. If you choose to go this route you can bet the customer will see your business logo and information everyday while in the car with a USB car charger, carried on them with a USB power bank, or in their house with a USB charging block.
You can invest however much or however little into the promotional items, but just keep in mind the goal you want to achieve with your promotion when purchasing items. If you have a small marketing budget ink pens, notepads, coolie cups, magnets, etc. are a good idea to get higher quantity to distribute to more people. If you have an event or a promotion you want to get extra attention then investing in t-shirts or, a little more expensive items that are relevant to your marketing idea will go a long way with your customers in the future.
